Right The deepest part of the lake drops down from the bush covered point on the left. To gain some perspective the bush line around the lake is about 1000 metres, so just under half of that distance is the depth.
Bottom Left Heading off into the distance the first day. The kayak is a Current Design "Storm" which proved equal to the task. It carried about 60kgs of food and gear plus me at the start. I could average 6kms/hr over 8 hours.
Bottom Right The dark line on the water is the first wind gust of a nor' wester gale that tested me a little with waves washing over my decks. The gale lasted two days.
