Weddings
Getting married is a milestone event in anyone’s life, so we aim to play our part in making your day the best day you have ever had. If you are planning a church wedding with a Christian emphasis, Waipu Presbyterian Church is an attractive venue. If you are planning an outside wedding, we can help there as well.
Booking the Church
The church, day, and time of day need to be booked as early as possible. Bookings are being made up to 12 months in advance. Book by phoning the minister (09) 4320534 or by emailing waipupresby_xtra.co.nz
Seating
The church can seat 250 comfortably and 300 cosily.
Marriage Celebrant
The minister, Peter Dunn, is available to take your marriage service. He will need to be able to meet with you three to four times face to face in the weeks leading up to the wedding day.
The purpose of these meetings is to plan the wedding service together and to discuss marriage-related topics as part of pre-marriage counselling. Please factor in these times into your planning. Depending on where you end up living, Peter will catch up with you a couple of times in the following 12 months to see how you are going.
If you have your own marriage celebrant, we will not be offended. We do insist however that only Christian Marriage Services take place in our church. To discuss this and make a booking contact the minister.
Flowers
We expect you to supply your own flowers for the wedding day. If you are able, we would love you to leave them in the church so we can enjoy them at our weekend services.
Multimedia
If you want to run a PowerPoint or multimedia presentation as part of the service we have the gear to run off your laptop or our computer using CD, DVD, or USB Flash storage device.
Music
We can supply an organist and pianist, plus we have a great sound system for CDs.
Cost
Waipu Presbyterian Church does not charge for the use of their buildings for weddings. The minister doesn't charge. Providing a venue and conducting a meaningful service is our gift to you. Sometimes we may ask for a donation to go directly to an organist or musician, otherwise it is free!
Most people, however, like to make donation. Don't ask us how much, we haven't a clue. Your decision. Make a cheque out to "Waipu Presbyterian Church".
Photographs
We allow both still photos and video to be taken in the church during the service.
